Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
First Visit to our office? Complete our new patient intake form and save time when you visit!
We file your insurance. In fact, we are probably your In-network Provider. We are In-Network with many insurance providers, including:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- United Healthcare
- First Health Network
- Participating Provider with Medicare
- Automobile Medical Payment Insurance
- We also take assignment from several attorneys in Athens if you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident.
Our Doctors will take all the time necessary to determine the nature of your condition. Our Doctors are among the most "medically friendly" Chiropractors in the area and realize that not all conditions can be or should be treated in our office. Their philosophy is simple "they will tell you if this is the right place for your condition or they will refer you to the proper medical provider. Either way, they will ensure you get the right care for your condition."
History and Examination
In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. Very much like the tests the Orthopedists and Neurologists perform, our Doctors will do a comprehensive examination to determine your exact diagnosis.
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. If advanced imaging, such as MRI is necessary, our Doctors will order those studies to get a clearer understanding of your condition. If you have current x-rays for your present condition, our Doctors will most likely be able to use them.
Same Day Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will be provided with pain relieving treatment so that they can go home feeling better. It is not common practice for our Doctors to deliver the corrective spinal adjustment on the first day simply because examination of the radiographs and physical examination take time. Our Doctors always go over your radiographic studies and provide a written report that explains all findings and treatments.
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.
Schedule Your Next Appointment
You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete written report of findings.
Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time. Our Doctors will show exactly what the problem is and our plan to correct the condition. If they feel like they can help a patient, they will----if they feel a condition is best treated somewhere else, they will explain that. Either way, they are very honest and "shoot straight with each patient about the nature of their condition."
As a general rule, most conditions can be managed in as little as 6 office visits. There are no silly contracts, no classes to attend and only professional chiropractic care to be expected.
